A Perfectly Precise Tarot Reading for the Virgo Full Moon

Happy Virgo Full Moon! This Friday, March 18, the full moon in Virgo occurs at 3:18 am EDT. Because I plan to be asleep then, I’m doing my full moon ritual and tarot reading today — St. Patrick’s Day!

When the moon is in Virgo, it shines a light on the details. Order, structure, and organization get emphasized in this super-efficient Earth sign. As a Virgo Rising, I feel an extra boost of energy leading up to this full moon — which is great because I’ve been sick the past few days! I swear the moon in Virgo is motivating me to clean. Do you feel that energy, too? I spent most of the morning deep cleaning my writing room. Now it feels like the perfect space for some creative breakthroughs!

Virgo is also a natural healer with an uncanny ability to sweep away stagnant energy blockages from body, mind, and spirit.

But first, here’s your tarot reading for the Virgo Full Moon 2022.

tarot reading for the virgo full moon shows the two of wands, Knight of wands, The Magician, and The Hermit

Questions for the Virgo Full Moon

  1. What details do I need to pay special attention to right now?
  2. What area of my life is this full moon asking me to clean, edit, or weed?
  3. How can I show myself more compassion with this full moon?
  4. What am I ready to release with the waning moon?

I used the Herbal Tarot deck for this reading. This is an affiliate link. I love this deck and highly recommend it, especially if you’re interested in herbalism.

What details should I pay special attention to right now?

Two of Wands

The Two of Wands says the sky is the limit when it comes to your personal power. This card shows a richly dressed young man holding the world in one hand while the other rests on a sprouting wand of creative potential.

Pay close attention to your dreams right now. I mean the desires you hold in your heart and the visions that come to you in your sleep.

If you’ve already started working on a passion project, now is a good time to evaluate your progress. Are you still moving confidently in the direction of your dreams? If you’ve gotten sidetracked, it’s not too late to course-correct.

What area of my life is this full moon asking me to clean up, edit, or weed?

Knight of Wands

The Knight of Wands is notorious for his fiery temper. He tends to rush into things without considering the consequences of his actions. Aconite — the herb featured on this card — is poisonous in its pure form.

This card asks you to weed out toxic people from your life. Do you know someone who creates drama and chaos whenever they’re around? Or maybe they don’t think twice about taking action or making decisions that ultimately ruin your carefully laid plans? Perhaps you’re always left to clean up the mess someone else has left behind?

If any of these ring true, it’s time to let that person go. This may sound harsh, but there are loving ways to release toxic people from your life (I can help you learn!). And remember, removing a poisonous herb from your garden leaves space for beautiful flowers to grow. The same is true with friends. Sometimes we need to walk away from an unhealthy relationship before finding our new best friend!

How can I show myself more compassion with this full moon?

The Magician

Woohoo! I always get excited when The Magician shows up.

Like the Two of Wands but more powerful, The Magician embodies limitless creative potential. Showing up next to the Knight of Wands, this card affirms the energetic boost you’ll get when you walk away from people who aren’t aligned with your best interests. Don’t worry about what’s best for someone else. Your job is to take care of yourself. The best thing you can do is stay in your lane and put all your energy into moving forward.

No one gets a free ride on your back, baby!

What am I ready to release with the waning moon?

The Hermit

First of all, I want to point out that this deck makes The Hermit and The Magician look like two versions of the same person. While The Magician faces forward, standing in a grassy knoll before an altar of tools in the daylight, The Hermit faces away from us, walking a well-trodden path into dusk. Both wear hooded cloaks and hold a radiant white orb in one hand. Even the herbs on the cards — Astragalus and Licorice — look similar.

Go ahead and scroll up to the photo to take a look while I wait here.

Spooky, eh?

I thought so.

Anyway, this card says it’s time to stop being a hermit. If you’ve been holed up all winter — as many of us have — it’s time to turn and face the light. Spring is here. Covid restrictions are easing. It’s time to leave your cave and show the world what you’ve been working on!

If in-person gatherings still feel like too much, don’t pressure yourself. This card can mean sharing yourself virtually. Whether through a steady stream of selfies, a written work that’s ready to publish, or something wildly different — put your art out there. It matters! We need it!
